This 3-day desert journey from Fes to Marrakech offers travellers the chance to discover Morocco’s changing landscapes, from cedar forests and mountain villages to the golden dunes of Merzouga and the valleys of southern Morocco. The tour includes camel trekking, desert camping, kasbah visits, and scenic drives through the Atlas Mountains.
Depart from Fes in the morning and travel through Ifrane, often referred to as the Switzerland of Morocco. Continue through the cedar forests of Azrou where wild monkeys can often be seen. After lunch near Midelt, continue south through the Ziz Valley and Erfoud before arriving in Merzouga. In the evening, enjoy a camel ride across the dunes and spend the night in a desert camp under the stars.
Wake early to admire the sunrise over the Sahara dunes before breakfast. Return by camel to meet your driver and continue towards Todra Gorges, famous for its dramatic canyon walls and palm groves. After free time to explore, continue to the Dades Valley where dinner and overnight accommodation await.
After breakfast, travel through the Valley of Roses and continue to Ouarzazate. Visit the famous Ait Benhaddou kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its traditional earthen architecture and movie history. Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass before arriving in Marrakech.
